Amazon relaunches SPF program Self-delivery sellers can enjoy the same advantages as FBA sellers

YCD News – Amazon reopens registration for new sellers in the Seller Self-Delivery Prime Program (SPF). Amazon’s U.S. station released a notice, since October 1 this year, Amazon SPF to the U.S. station sellers to reopen the registration of new sellers, and cancel the seller to join the program’s sales fee. And earlier, in June this year, the program has been to the European station (Britain, France, Germany, Italy and the West, Poland, Belgium, Sweden, the Netherlands) to reopen the application.

It is reported that the seller self-delivery Prime program (SFP), as opposed to Amazon Logistics (FBA), allows non-FBA sellers to direct their products to Prime members. After joining the program, sellers can ship directly from their own warehouses, the Prime order will be self-distributed, and the goods will display the Prime mark, that is, SPF sellers have almost the same advantages as FBA sellers, such as access to Amazon Prime logo, so as to obtain the traffic tilt, as well as better to win the Buy Box (gold shopping cart), but also to reach the Prime members, participate in the Prime Day promotions, etc.

In fact, self-delivery sellers need to meet the following 2 conditions to qualify for “Seller Delivery Prime”, i.e., they must meet 3 eligibility criteria to qualify for a 30-day trial of the Seller Delivery Prime program, as well as 12 performance metrics that must be met during the trial period.

Eligibility requirements to register for the Seller-Delivered Prime program

1.Have a U.S. address as the default shipping address.

2.Have an Amazon Professional Sales Account.

3.The following conditions have been met within the last 90 days:

  • Self-delivery of at least 100 packages.
  • Cancellation rate below 2.5 per cent.
  • Effective tracking rate above 95%.
  • Late shipment rate below 4 per cent.

During the trial period, [Seller Self-Delivery Prime Orders] must meet the following performance metrics

  1. Participation in the trial is for a period of 30 days.
  2. Seller cancellation rate not to exceed 0.5%.
  3. No less than 93.5 per cent delivered on time.
  4. Effective tracking rate of not less than 99%.
  5. Free Delivery.
  6. Order inquiries are handled by Amazon Customer Service.
  7. Same day processing for minimum order cut-off times.
  8. Open for business on Saturday, Sunday or both to receive, pack and ship Prime orders.
  9. Delivering Prime products on Saturday, Sunday, or both!
  10. All items in the Prime shipping template (including all size segments) must be delivered within 1-5 days.
  11. Free Returns

When a seller passes the SPF trial period, the item will carry the Prime mark, thus boosting its exposure among Amazon Prime member buyers, and also gaining access to free after-sales processing of buyer orders provided by Amazon.

Amazon officials say that Amazon SFP can complement Amazon FBA. As FBA inventory changes, sellers can mix and match the various SKUs they sell with the best delivery solution. When the two delivery solutions are used in combination, all items selected by the seller can become Prime items.

YCD learned that Amazon launched the SFP program in 2015 and suspended SFP registration for new sellers in 2019. At that time, less than 16% of SFP orders in the U.S. met the Prime two-day delivery promise. Amazon has also said that it previously suspended accepting new seller applications because the program failed to meet consumer expectations and wanted to provide sellers with more support, and clearer standards..
