Amazon UAV starts to deliver goods!

YCD news, Amazon announced that it has officially started to use the MK27-2 UAV to deliver goods to customers in California (Rockford) and Texas (University Town).

In June 2022, the e-commerce giant announced for the first time that it would launch UAV delivery service in California, California. Six months later, this service was finally successfully implemented. Now, as long as the goods that meet the Prime Air standard are ordered through Amazon, they are all in the UAV delivery category.

Natalie Banke, a spokesman for Amazon Airlines, said: “Our goal is to safely fly the UAV into the air. We will first launch the UAV delivery service in these two places. As time goes on, this service will expand to more regions.”

YCD learned that Amazon called its UAV delivery service “Prime Air”. Long ago, the company had been in contact with the Federal Aviation Administration, local officials in California, California and Texas to launch the service as soon as possible.

Amazon said that after the user places an order, the UAV will fly to the user’s backyard, then descend to a certain height, put down the package, and finally fly away. The UAV can carry goods weighing less than 5 pounds and deliver them to users within 60 minutes.

It is worth noting that in November this year, Amazon displayed a new UAV called “MK30”. The company announced that the new MK30 UAV is not only lighter, smaller, quieter, and more durable, but also can fly under high temperature and light rain in changeable weather conditions. According to the development process, the delivery UAV will be put into use in 2024.
