According to the latest data released by Adjust, a mobile analytics platform, Prime Big Deal Days has a stronger “halo effect” than this year’s Prime Day, with a higher increase in downloads of mobile e-commerce apps.
Here’s a look at the number of installs and sessions for several different categories of mobile apps in the U.S. during Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days in 2023, which Adjust also compares to the inaugural Fall Prime Early Access Sale in October 2022 and Prime Day in July 2023
E-commerce applications
E-commerce app installs were 30% higher during Prime Big Deal Days 2023 than during the October 2022 Prime Early Access Sale.
E-commerce app sessions were 12% higher during Prime Big Deal Days 2023 than during the October 2022 Prime Early Access Sale.
Shopping Apps
Installs of shopping apps increased by 3% during Prime Big Deal Days 2023 compared to the October 2022 Prime Early Access Sale.
An 18% increase in shopping app sessions during Prime Big Deal Days 2023 compared to the October 2022 Prime Early Access Sale.
Shopping apps had longer sessions during Prime Big Deal Days 2023 (9.22 minutes) compared to Prime Day 2023 (8.81 minutes) in July.
Transaction discovery applications
25% more installs of deal discovery apps during Prime Big Deal Days 2023 than during the October 2022 Prime Early Access Sale.
During Prime Big Deal Days 2023, deal discovery apps saw a 22% increase in sessions compared to the October 2022 Prime Early Access Sale.
Adjust’s data also shows that global e-commerce app installs were 114% higher on Prime Big Deal Days 2023 than on Fall Membership Day last October. Amazon’s Fall Membership Day drove growth across the e-commerce market. This significant growth underscores two major trends: consumers’ increasing reliance on mobile shopping and deal discovery.
